Obituary

BESSEMER CITY - William W. "Bill" Ledwell, 72, passed away July 31, 2014, at
Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born June 11, 1942, in Gaston County, to the late George William and Leona Cook Ledwell.

Bill was a member of Ragan Wesleyan Church and retired from Public Service Gas Company in Gastonia. He served in the United States Army. Bill was devoted to his grandchildren and loved his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 26 years, Norma Brown "Cissy" Ledwell; daughter, Kimberly Ledwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Wise and husband Randy of Bessemer City; sister, Brenda Nichols of Gastonia; grandchildren, Lauren and Macey Wise of Bessemer City; great-granddaughter, Isabella McIntosh.

His funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Ragan Wesleyan Church with the Rev. John Harper officiating.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City and other times at the home.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with full military rites by the Bessemer City American Legion Post 243 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ragan Wesleyan Church, 535 Oates Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.
