Kay Tanner Hanline (1942-2012)


GASTONIA - Kay Tanner Hanline, 69, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 26, 2012, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Darlington County, S.C., born Jan. 29, 1942, to the late James P. and Kathleen Marshall Tanner.
Kay was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was known for her loving smile. She was retired from Avon Bonded Warehouse after 34 years of service. She was very active in her former church, where she sent cards to the shut-ins. She was the Laity award winner a number of times.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Jerry Hanline, daughters and spouses, Ruth Presnell and James, Priscilla Mukenschnabl and Danny; sons and spouses Mike Hanline and Valorie, Ronnie Hanline and Tara, David Hanline and fiancé Melanie Bast; sister, Susan Holland; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Iris Lewis; and two grandchildren, Adam and Emily Hanline.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Interment will be in Bethesda Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.
