Our 50th Reunion was held Oct. 8th & 9th, 2010. Listed below is what we did.
Schedule of Events
Friday Afternoon Get Together
Where: Gaston County Wildlife Club, Lake Wylie, 3100 S. Point Rd., Belmont, NC, 28012
When: 4 P.M. until 11 P.M.
A casual evening on the lake where we met and greeted our classmates
Old fashion' cook out with burgers & dogs
Saturday Morning Memorial Service
Where: Family Life Center @ First Methodist Church, Gastonia
When: 9:30 A.M.
Memorial Service to honor our deceased classmates
A full country breakfast was provided by Linda Brown Addison & Linda Shepard Nolen.
Saturday Afternoon or Following the Memorial Service:
A great many of us took a tour of Ashley Arms.
Free time. Many gathered in the hospitality room at the Hampton Inn to talk and graze.
Saturday Night:
Where: The Loft, 245 West Garrison Blvd. (Gem of Ashley)
When: 7-11 P.M.
Food and Drink:
Heavy hors d'oeuves with tea, coffee, soft drinks
Cash bar for alcoholic drinks
Music and Dancing: DJ
Program: door prizes, lots of Remember When... activities, & our own special MC
We arranged with the Hampton Inn for a block of rooms and a hospitality suite for Friday afternoon & Saturday. In addition, a good number of classmates had Sunday breakfast there (a couple of us, also had Friday breakfast together).
