Memories Before High School (neighborhood, elementary & jr high, etc.):

Myrtle Elementary school, Central Elementary School, Wray Middle School, Grier Jr. High School
St. Michaels Catholic School, first grade.

Mrs Wood in third or second grade at Myrtle.

Wray Jr High, Buying Twin Banana popsicles for girls if (?) They could catch me on play field...seems I recall Betty Smith, ..

Mrs McCloud (?) for fifth grade at Central.
.Mrs Foote's class on second floor of Methodist Church satellite class of Central Middle School....Principal Howard (?)
Dick Jarman, Bill Rhyne(?) was in that class too.

We used to roller skate during recess.

Special School Memories:

Serving on Spinner Yearbook selling advertisements
Played clarinet in Ashley band, and we had some well appreciated concerts- especially at Christmas.

Oh, but do you recall, Durham School of Dancing?
The assistant instructor was Ms Kitchin ( or Kitchen).
WoW...what culture we were exposed to....And along came the "Shag"... The Viennese Waltz was a favorite. ....Kay Herring, Jenny Schneider, Nancy McClunney, Christine & Bonnie Norris, Rosalind Ratchford; Bobby Tatlock was the star male student, Jim Bumgardner, Sonny Rawlings, RB Jenkins, Dick Jarman, Bill Rhyne, George Clemmer, Ross Roberts, and so many more... Seems like everyone was there....

The boys I don't think were too keen on it at first?
My Mom made me attend, the first night I was almost in tears.

But then I got to dance with all the girls in school that ignored me!
Wasn't life grand back then?

No one enjoyed the waltz more than Jill Littlefield and I.

Since School...:

Travelled and worked throughout New Zealand for a company related to Wix Corporation in Gastonia, and Australia- Rockdale-Botany Bay, near Sydney.
Coming back to USA was big disappointment. Still maintain several friends in New Zealand. Just call me linkman for New Zealand websites.
Visited Brisbane and Koala park there.
Traveled all over Europe and London. Especially enjoyed ruins of Pompeii.

Been envolved with the Mummers of Philadelphia
as in Stringbands.
Member of Durning String Band, Bellmawr, NJ

I deserted from the "War on Poverty".... couldn't find the front battle lines...so to speak.

Our class has been at the forefront of a generation of creative technology....

We have really brought "Good things to life" .... as the GE commercial used to tout !

To have made a difference to others, civilization even, is about as good as we could hope to achieve.  Let us be Thankful for the "Good Times"!

This is the tune I recall being played on a piano in the auditorium almost every morning before classes...

"Heart and Soul"

Cheers. Thanks for the Memories

Oh my heart felt condolences...I grew up on Myrtle School Rd;

Attended Myrtle School 3rd grade Mrs Woods class.

Such a friendly smile and engaging personality.

May we remember the sharing he brought to those who met him.

Happy Birthday

Try Saltgras Steak House, they have one in Knightdale near Raleigh, now.

Political scene is strange... and trending worse.
A lot of thinking needed to understand.

It's hard to argue with success.(??)

Relax, time cures all.

Happy Birthday...

Catch up on your sleep and party like there is no tomorrow!

"Roses from the South" is one of my most favorite waltz .

Hope I don't wear out my welcome with posts by Andre Rieu.

Reminds us of how much "Togetherness" we miss.

Been watching the "LocalIsh" program on TV....

Urge to travel and eat is tempting.

Moral is we seldom realize how much Life/living opportunities pass us by.(?)

But "We can sing in the Sunshine"

May your memories of today be your most special .

Surely a benchmark in economic and social history.

You're over "64" and still Loved"... that's a roll of some sort.

BUY something.... every time the money changes hands about five times, the Government has it !

We can "spend our way out of National Debt"

Do your part.... Jump start our economy !

May this be your most unique gift today.. redirect your thought to our Forefathers and present day technology .

Happy Birthday.

It''s all about "Matter" (??)

There's Grey Matter , Dark Matter, Don't Matter ....how you look at Life ,
It's the little things that Matter to us most.

You Keep Smiling, people will wonder What you have on your Mind - over Matter.

Just to know you are Appreciated, needed even is "Oh what a relief "
Getting your Proper amount of attention is all that Matters on your Birthday.

I notice you are Smiling... wondering : What's the Matter with me.(??)

That's what friends are for !
Red Skelton reminds me of kindness.... made easy.

we lost Helen Redding this year... so "Sing in the Sunshine"
