Amelia Reid Pritchett, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
Amelia played the piano all her life, sharing her musical talents at various local church services and events, her favorite being the men’s Henderlite Bible Class at First Presbyterian of Gastonia, which was her late husband’s Sunday School class, serving faithfully for over thirty-five years. With her daughters, she enjoyed attending the theater, traveling, and following the southern gospel music circuit, often found on the front row of Heart 2 Heart Ministries performances. Amelia was also talented in cake decorating, ceramics, and many other arts and crafts, enjoying gifting her creations to others. A lady who never left the house without “putting her face on,” Amelia always dressed stylishly and enjoyed shopping for clothes, jewelry, and anything with chickens. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, her listening ear, her love of her family and friends, and her commitment to and faith in Jesus Christ.
Amelia is survived by her daughters, Amy and Jamee, both of Gastonia, her son Bill Jr. (Sandra) of Belmont, and her fur baby Elsa Grace. She is also survived by many loved and cherished nieces and nephews as well as her grand dogs Daigle and Forbes.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband of forty years Bill, her parents Joe Katon and Willie Mae Reid, as well as her sister Helen Taylor and her brothers Preston, Claude, and Jack Reid.

Amelia and I shared the same locker all 3 years at Ashley and were also in the same homeroom. Whenever nearby, Jerry seagle always assisted her with her coat - whether putting it on or removing it. She was always grateful for his timely assistance. Reading her obituary showed her many gifts and blessings. She'll be fondly remembered.
