Profile Updated: November 27, 2021
Address: Middlesex, NC USA
Spouse/Partner: It should have happened?
Homepage: richard.rockett@gmail.com
Occupation: Purchasing and Investment Recovery consulting and Development Sales and Marketing Research: finding new uses for products, technology and materials.
Children/Grandchildren: None... cause no one ever calls on Father's Day (??)!

Well, it's slowly coming back to me now....but More…there were none...and I am unanimous in this.
Military Service: Army, Pvt. E-1
Memories Before High School (neighborhood, elementary & jr high, etc.):

Myrtle Elementary school, Central Elementary School, Wray Middle School, Grier Jr. High School
St. Michaels Catholic School, first grade.

Mrs Wood in third or second grade at Myrtle.

Wray Jr High, Buying Twin Banana popsicles for girls if (?) They could catch me on play field...seems I recall Betty Smith, ..

Mrs McCloud (?) for fifth grade at Central.
.Mrs Foote's class on second floor of Methodist Church satellite class of Central Middle School....Principal Howard (?)
Dick Jarman, Bill Rhyne(?) was in that class too.

We used to roller skate during recess.

Special School Memories:

Serving on Spinner Yearbook selling advertisements
Played clarinet in Ashley band, and we had some well appreciated concerts- especially at Christmas.

Oh, but do you recall, Durham School of Dancing?
The assistant instructor was Ms Kitchin ( or Kitchen).
WoW...what culture we were exposed to....And along came the "Shag"... The Viennese Waltz was a favorite. ....Kay Herring, Jenny Schneider, Nancy McClunney, Christine & Bonnie Norris, Rosalind Ratchford; Bobby Tatlock was the star male student, Jim Bumgardner, Sonny Rawlings, RB Jenkins, Dick Jarman, Bill Rhyne, George Clemmer, Ross Roberts, and so many more... Seems like everyone was there....

The boys I don't think were too keen on it at first?
My Mom made me attend, the first night I was almost in tears.

But then I got to dance with all the girls in school that ignored me!
Wasn't life grand back then?

No one enjoyed the waltz more than Jill Littlefield and I.

Since School...:

Travelled and worked throughout New Zealand for a company related to Wix Corporation in Gastonia, and Australia- Rockdale-Botany Bay, near Sydney.
Coming back to USA was big disappointment. Still maintain several friends in New Zealand. Just call me linkman for New Zealand websites.
Visited Brisbane and Koala park there.
Traveled all over Europe and London. Especially enjoyed ruins of Pompeii.

Been envolved with the Mummers of Philadelphia
as in Stringbands.
Member of Durning String Band, Bellmawr, NJ

I deserted from the "War on Poverty".... couldn't find the front battle lines...so to speak.

I can still visualize Doll and other Classmates in Sweetlands' Drug Store munching on French Fries and plying conversion that was to be memorable.

Little do we realize how much subtle experiences directly influence our lives.

To be able to say you made a difference by your experiences or even presence is so meaningful.

Doll can be seen in the history of most of classmates' memory..

"Roses from the South" is a favorite of mine and I share to memories of Doll Smith

About being .... never mind “Old”

Chuck Berry will refresh your memory that:
“ It just goes to show, that you never can tell about the Old Folks” !

It was his music that was included on the first space probe to leave our Galaxy... that’s as in Space ... not the model of Ford automobile.

I am so Thankful to have witnessed the accomplishments of our generation.

May we someday be “Appreciated” as Forefathers...
The music will be the thing that gives relief from the times that
“Try men’s souls.”
I hope.

The Northern Lights go un-noticed by most of Earth’s inhabitants... so here is a reminder to “Ponder”...

Good beverages seem to be fitting while watching and listening.

Really, the only difference between The Royal Family and a Red Neck Family is...,
The Family Jewels.

Cheers

James Burke has been an inspiration to so many.
You may reflect upon his many presentations.

Don’t forget what you were doing....
