Sue Shannon Eaker

Fond memories of going to Myrtle School for elementary and junior high; getting together with girlfriends and going to Elvis movies

Teachers were dedicted and I thought strict at the time. Being a teacher myself and looking back, they probably weren't so much.

Went to Flora MacDonald (freshman year) and graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College(roomed with Phyllis Nivens Lineberger 4 yrs.), taught 5th grade in Greensboro 1 yr.; in 1965 married Reggie Eaker from Gastonia, lived in Charlotte 2 1/2 years, moved to Greensboro and taught until first son born (1971), second son in 1975; stayed home and volunteered in schools and church; began substitute teaching when younger son entered middle school; husband died in 1991; also worked in two after-school programs; have remained active in church, singing in the choir until Jan. of this year when I stopped to help with the care of my 92 1/2 yr. old mom in Dallas, NC
