Donald C. Smith
Donald Craig "Smitty" Smith of Fredericksburg, formerly of Dumfries, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ollie Smith; three daughters, Marilyn Collins of Woodbridge, Donna Taylor of Fredericksburg and Sandra Kern of Dumfries; one brother, Calvin S. Smith of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Kelli, Frankie, Brandy, Honestie, Katelynne, Willie and Evan; one great-grandson, Maxwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Smith was the owner of Smith's Wrecker Service in Dumfries. He was a 35-year member of Dumfries United Methodist Church, a former volunteer firefighter with the Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, and an active member and officer of the Quantico Host Lions Club.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City.
A funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Dumfries United Methodist Church, 3890 Cameron St., Dumfries, with the Rev. Larry Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in Dumfries Cemetery.
