Memories Before High School (neighborhood, elementary & jr high, etc.):

Going to PreSchool at Mrs. Severance on 2nd Ave; then 1st grade at St. Michaels with Sister Marie Andre'; 2nd & 3rd grades at Central; then to North for 4th-6th. Mr. Miller was the Principal and Miss Jones was my 5th grade teacher. Arlington Jr. Hi was next with Becky Blalock,Jane Howe, Anne Rednour, Jane Sparks, David Stewart, RB Jenkins, Paul Childress and many more good friends.
Mr. John Golf was Principal.

Special School Memories:

Being crowned Queen of Arlington Jr. Hi in the 9th grade, actually the person who raised the most money won, so it was a money making project for the school. Singing "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" in 9 th grade talent show.
Meeting Roland, my sweetie, @ the Spindale City Fair @ Gaston County Fairgrounds, not realizing one day I would marry him.
President of FBLA senior yr. at Ashley Hi and going to Raleigh for FBLA convention, where I was to deliever a speech. Toured RJ Reynolds tobacco in the afternoon and they gave each one a 3pack of cigarettes. Thought I would be big and learn how to inhale, MISTAKE. Sick as a dog and never started smoking due to that sickness.
Singing in the chorus at Ashley Hi. By the way, that senior picture makes me look old. I am much younger now..

Since School...:

Married sweetheart Roland and moved to California during Roland's service in the Navy Seabees. Moved back to Gastonia, then Rutherford Cnty. Enjoyed being housewife and taking care of our 2 children. Opened our business in 1980, The Body Shoppe,(not a car shop-human body). Bought 2nd home in N. Myrtle Beach, where Roland & I enjoy getting away for some down time and to de-stress. With the Grace of God, we have endured and grown with wisdom and knowledge through the years.

Nothing has really happened since the reunion, except Roland has retired from work and driving "Miss Claudia" since she fell on Nov. 26 down 5 steps, broke collar bone, broke bone in left elbow & tore left rotator. Hopefully, surgery is not going to be necessary. Find out Tuesday 2/8/11. Been in physical theraphy since the fall. Doing great at this time. Got one of those magnetic balance braclets, do you think it will help. Hopefully, it will. HA HA
Roland is doing ok with his back. He is also having physical theraphy.
Moved out granddaughter to Western Carolina University on Jan. 7 for her Jr. & Sr. years. Her major is Criminal Justic with a minor in Ferensics.

On February 2, 2018, I lost the love of my life. Roland had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, (cancer of the blood) on June 2, 2017. We ha an oncologist, Dr. Lind, at the VA in Asheville, NC and Dr. Kang at Duke Medical in Durham. He was on his 3rd medication and this one was suppose to get him into remission, but God had other plans. We were at our beach house in North Myrtle Beach. He was doing good, but all of a sudden, he passed away in my arms of cardiac arrest. Please pray for me.

Happy Birthday Claudia! Hope you have a great day!
Funny experience: I met a new friend in our neighborhood in Blowing Rock, named Claudia Hull. When she introduced herself, I commented that I had a high school classmate, Claudia Hill. She laughed and said that her maiden name was Hill! Small world huh!! You & Roland come visit us in BR this Spring and I'll introduce you to her!

Sorry for the passing of Jay T.  He was a friend for many, many years.  I first got to know him when he ran the Shell station on the corner of Hwy 321 & Rankin St. We had really looked forward to seeing JayT at our high school reunions.  He was a wonderful person and a very astute businessman.

So sorry to learn of Jays passing.  Jay and I grew up in the same neighborhood.  Jay did not come from a weathly family, so he went to work at an early age.  He learned how to make a dollar and expaned his business many times over.  Jay always greeted me with a hug anywhere we ran across each other. We know he is in better, but I will certainly miss a great friend.  Rest in Peace friend.
