Patsy Weaver (Earney)

ARNEY, Patsy Ann

Patsy Ann Earney departed this earth on Sunday, August 29, 2021, with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ted Earney. She is survived by her brother Ronnie Weaver, daughter Susan Earney, son Kevin Earney, daughter Karen Doane (Chris) and her grandchildren Elijah, James, Carson and Olivia Doane. Patsy was an Air Force wife who traveled with her husband from their hometown in Gastonia, NC to Greenville, SC, Wichita Falls, TX and Savannah, GA. They eventually settled in Tucker, GA where they chose to raise their children and spend the remainder of their lives. Patsy began her career in Administration and worked her way up to Human Resources Management. She worked for various companies including Canteen, St. Regis Paper and Safeguard Business Systems. She also worked for several government entities including DeKalb County Public Schools, The Center for Disease Control and the Army Corp of Engineers. After raising her daughters, Patsy decided to go back to college. She proudly graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Personnel Management. Although she had a career outside the home, Patsy's main focus was being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a dance, drill team, gymnastics, homeroom and team mom. She baked for school, helped with homework and projects and kept the budgets for the booster club. She was a good cook and her husband's lunches were the envy of his co-workers. Pasty was an excellent seamstress. She made dresses for Easter, piano recitals, drill team and weddings. She enjoyed making curtains and helping decorate her children's homes. She especially loved sewing blankets and toys and embroidering for her grandchildren. Patsy was always there for her husband, children and grandchildren but mostly she made sure they knew they were loved. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 10 from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday, September 11 from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Bill Head Funeral Home Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 2 PM in the Bill Head Funeral Home Lilburn/Tucker Chapel.
