Tom was my dear friend for more than 60 years. We met at Ashley and were neighbors, while he was married to Melba, when we attended NC State. We maintained our long-distance friendship by exchanging phone calls and time together at our class reunions. Beverly and I will miss him.
Linda did a big favor for me in 1962 that changed my life and Beverly’s. She provided the place and opportunity for me to propose to Beverly. During one of our visits, Linda agreed to conventionally leave the room so I could propose to Beverly. Our marriage that she helped to launch is approaching the 61st anniversary.
Happy Birthday Nick! We share some happy memories in homeroom, various classes, band and at Western Carolina, as well as lunches in recent years with Marian, Beverly and John and Judith Parker. And reminiscing at class reunions. You've been a dear friend since high school, and you're in Beverly's and my prayers and thoughts. We pray for God's blessings on you, Marian and your family.
Happy Birthday Dennis! I hope you’re having a great day!
We’re going to miss y’all today at our 60th + 2 Reunion. This getting old ain’t as much fun as I thought it would be!
Hello Jim,
Beverly and I are very disappointed that we’re going to miss our class reunion. We’re really going to miss talking to our old school friends.
My 80-year-old brain informs me that we first met when your family started to attend Victory Baptist. I think it was before we started the first grade. I also recall us playing Monopoly at your Florida Street home one summer. And, camping on a Florida Street vacant lot on some summer nights. Does any of this ring a bell for you? In any event you are one of my oldest friends.
I hope you and Jan are healthy, despite being old. Please tell Jan hello for me and give her a big hug.
Love and Best Wishes,
Dennis
Hello Dennis! I was very sorry to see your notice that you and Beverly would not be able to attend our Class of 60 Reunion! I’m sorry that you’ve had this walking problem and hope you’ll soon have a satisfactory recovery! Being our age has not been the “all fun” life that we worked for in retirement has it? We’ll remember both you and Beverly in our thoughts and prayers! We’ll miss y’all but certainly understand! Love to you both!
